Navigating the Path of Healing: A Personal Journey

Everyone has a journey that involves healing. As someone who is dedicated to helping others along their journey, I think it’s important for others to know that even healers have their own healing to do. This is a small glimpse into my personal story.

As a child, I had bronchitis and pneumonia quite a bit, and so I had my 1st surgery, a tonsillectomy at the age of 11. Since then, I have had thirteen more surgeries. Whether it was a foot surgery, a tendon, two c-sections, ectopic, hips, nerves, shoulder… ya… you get the picture. There were a few times that I was truly a medical experiment to the physicians. Now the surgeries do not account for other breaks or fractures, severe sprains and on and on. I was “accident prone” and everyone knew it. Personally, I just always thought I gave 110%, therefore things happened. :)

On the other side, I am a child of the 70s. Born to teen parents who of course had their own struggles. My youth consisted of some very traumatic events, assaults, neglect, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and loss. I would often disassociate my mind and body to survive. I didn’t know this then.

It was in my 20’s that I realized I had a lot of healing to do. But then I met a great guy and had a couple of beautiful children and working on myself was not a priority.

After a cancer scare at 29, I realized I needed to figure something else out. Between child woundings, emotional trauma, illnesses, surgeries, etc., there had to be a better way to live.  I decided to start by getting healthier physically, and in doing so I would learn to help and teach others to do the same. In 2002 I became a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer. Helping others became a passion. I loved it. I continued doing this off and on, for the next 14 years.

At some point while teaching yoga, and breathwork I realized there was so much more to helping others and myself. I started learning about Energy Healing!

I heard about Reiki, energy healing, around 2014 and took my 1st Reiki classes 1 and 2. A couple more surgeries in 2015 and I knew there really had to be more. I kept studying. I took Reiki 1 and 2 four times before working for my mastery.

I also looked deep into spirituality, which I had been fascinated with since I was a child. My first class was with James Van Praagh.

In 2017, I dove in. This is when I invested in a year-long life coaching course. This course took me deep. There was a lot of healing, a lot of shadow work, that I had to do for myself before I could help others. There was a lot of coursework, practice, etc. But I did it.

It was also during this time I studied to get my Reflexology diploma, working with energy and pressure points in the body. This all made sense to me.

I have been on this path ever since. I have lost count of all the psychic, medium, angel channeling, energy healing classes I have taken, but I have built upon each one, and love every moment of it.

Being a healer doesn’t mean I don’t have my own problems, physically or emotionally. I do my best to lead by example and practice what I teach.

My passion for 20+ years now is to help others: mind, body, and soul. This is me, navigating my path, learning, and exploring different options, always moving forward, enjoying the journey.
