Choosing Courage

Have you ever had those moments that you just want to quit?

You know, the point where discomfort is at a peak and your mind is negotiating different escape routes.

Let’s have a chat about choosing courage over comfort.

Different challenges can leave us feeling stuck, exhausted, or uncertain about the path we are on. There may be moments you feel “I don’t know if I can do this.” Those times when you just want to quit a job, a relationship, anything - I mean, doesn’t that seem easier.

But often, it is through those difficult moments that we discover our strength, resilience, and growth.

This month I mark 2 anniversaries: 9 years of A Balanced Life as a business, and 4 years since I opened A Balanced Life studio in Waco. Throughout this decade, there are so many times I wanted to quit. And for brief bouts, I did. A state-to-state move, re-establishing myself, working full or part-time jobs - fitting in clients on my off hours. Just being a solo-prenuer can be exhausting if not lonely.

But then, I just kept going. Why? Because I sincerely love THIS WORK! I miss it when I’m not helping others. And I honestly feel blessed to be able to do it.

Perseverance through the rough patches does not mean having all the answers. It means choosing to keep going, even one small step at a time. Every setback carries an opportunity to learn, heal, and reconnect with the strength already within us.

This doesn’t mean that some things are just better left in the dust and behind you while you reframe, refocus, or realign yourself. Again, this is choosing courage.

When life feels hard, or you have a “I want to quit moment,” give yourself some grace. Pause, breathe, and remember how far you have already come, what you have learned about yourself. Trust that difficult seasons are temporary but the wisdom and resilience you gain from them can last a lifetime.

You ARE stronger than the obstacles in front of you. Keep moving forward, even if one slow turtle step at a time. Your breakthrough can be a wonderful discovery in learning just how courageous you truly are. I believe in you.
